The enterprise was founded on May 14, 1982 as Mauser Institut für
Physik und Medizin located in Mammendorf (Munich area). It was co-
operation between the Koglek & Starck company and physicist Rudolf
Mauser. On April 10th in 1984 the company changed it’s name to
MIPM MAMMENDORFER INSTITUT FÜR PHYSIK UND MEDIZIN GMBH.
In 1991 MIPM was separated from Koglek & Starck and became independent.
MIPM has been dedicated in the medical technology field in the areas of
research & development, production and service, especially focussing on
the demands of MRI compatible devices, medical pressure measure-
ment technology, and special oxymetry probes for the measurement of
oxygen saturation.
MIPM’s name is well-renowned for its FIRST CLASS MEDICAL SERVICE
with hospital customers as well as partner companies. A competent,
reliable, and highly qualified hospital customers as well as partner
companies. A competent, reliable, and highly qualified service for in
house products as well as products from other companies is always
guaranteed. World wide renowned companies, such as GV-Medical,
Radionics, Invivo, Spectramed, Gould-Medical, Datex-Ohmeda, Medex,
Alaris, Organon, Enraf-Nonius, Dräger and Arrow, offered or still offer their
customers an optimum after-sales care through MIPM’s service.
FIRST CLASS MEDICAL SERVICE does not only mean repair, but the
complete logistics including spare parts stock and reporting according to
the strict US requirements of FDA. Of course MIPM’s Service Team is
also in charge of supporting operators and medical technicians within the hospitals.
MIPM designs and develops its own products. The experience of years of
activities in R&D projects for numerous customers created several own
patents.
Within the last years focus of the company has been on magnet reso-
nance imaging (MRI). MIPMs knowledge is appreciated world wide.
Well known companies from Germany and the United States trust in the
experience and competence of MIPMs employees. Therefore MIPM
completes R&D projects for partner companies alongside its own
developments.
Another main field of MIPM activity is within special
medical pressure measurement technology.
MIPM has a production department for in-house-developed products and customer-ordered units. Development and production are always focussed on customer demands. If any customer orders are accepted, the MIPM team achieves the quality required within the fastest possible period of time by utilizing the optimum technical resources. As a matter of course international standards, such as EN 13485:2001 and ISO 9001 are taken into consideration. Time is an outstanding factor making a clear difference between MIPM and its competitors. Thereby it helps MIPM to form and sustain long-term customer relationship.
MIPM’s own products the Tesla series (Vital function monitor; pulse oxi-
meter, NBP monitor) and the MRI-Caddy® (drug application system) are
well-introduced within the market. The MRI-Caddy® presently is a
unique product in the world market. Besides a personal sales force
within the German-speaking countries MIPM operates a distributor
network in many countries e.g.: Australia, Great Britain, Italy, India, Iran,
Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, USA, UAE, Vietnam and
Bahrain.
The Compartment Pressure Measurement System CPMS and an ICP
probe have been developed in cooperation with health professionals.
Distribution channels to Great Britain, Finland and the USA have been
established but MIPMs effort to market these products is still at the
beginning. The goal is to build an international distribution network for the
complete product program.
One focus is on the world wide sales activities for MRI-products. Another project worth pursuing is the expan¬sion of MIPM’s market leadership in the field of MRI-compatible products, like leadership in compartment pressure measuring. MIPM’s know-how in research and development deserves additional mar¬keting chances. This is covered by the ”Millennium” Offensive. The Service Offensive 2000 already launched will most probably win more service partners for MIPM, which in turn will require the expansion of the company’s service activities.
